ENTO 600 Insect Pathology (3 credits)

Overview

Entomology : A detailed study of the interaction between insects and their pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungi and nematodes). Emphasis is divided equally between the identification and reactions of anti-pathogen systems in insects and the microbiology (particularly virulence mechanisms) of the pathogens. Students must have a general microbiology course and courses in biochemistry and insect physiology.
