Overview

Education in Second Languages : Current theories and models of second language literacy development and their implications for teaching, including the use of literature as a tool for language learning. Key issues include the nature of literacy development, reading and writing processes, and appropriate pedagogical approaches and techniques.

  • Prerequisite: EDSL 512
  • Restriction: Restricted to students in the Graduate Certificate in TESL or with permission of the Graduate Program Director
  • Due to the intensive nature of this course, the standard add/drop and withdrawal deadlines do not apply. Add/drop is the second lecture day and withdrawal is the fourth lecture day.
